Some journeys begin in the sky. That’s how we met — through our shared love of paragliding. It didn’t take many flights before we became friends, and as our friendship grew, so did a shared vision: to create a place for people like us — those who love flying, nature, simplicity, and community. But not just a campsite or hotel. We imagined something more grounded, more conscious: a paragliding hotspot nestled in wild beauty. A space that’s ecological, off-grid-smart, and open-hearted. A home base for recharge and reconnection.
At first, we thought Spain might be the right place. We spent nearly two years scouting locations, navigating permits, and learning the landscape. But in the end, the red tape and investment risks proved too steep.
That’s when we turned our attention south — to Robert’s home country: South Africa.
In Q1 of 2024, we spent three months along the Garden Route. We made friends, soaked in the landscapes, and discovered what a gem Wilderness truly is — not just for paragliding, but for the way the municipality is managed and the way the community flows. We felt inspired.
By our second visit in Q1 of this year, we knew: this was it. And we sealed the deal — a piece of land that matched our dream. Remote, alive, fertile, and waiting to grow with us.
Now, we’re incredibly excited to start building what will soon become Farm21.
